I've had one of these Ethernet switches under running 24/7 on my home network now for several years and it's worked flawlessly all this time... still going strong even with constant heavy use. I love the compact size, durable construction, and reasonable price. I recently needed to expand the network into another part of my house and I purchased another one (now under the Cisco name). It's identical to the old one and is also working perfectly. I'll definitely buy another when it comes time to expand again. Two thumbs up!

I have a four computer home network so I was out of ports on my router. Then I bought a Sony Blu-Ray player that has an internet connection available. The best solution was to buy a network switch. When I received the switch I hooked it up to my router, plugged my computers into it, and I was done. There were no hassles at all. Less than 5 minutes and I was done.

In general, stay away from Linksys: look to Netgear now as the best value equipment that lasts and lasts. We purchased one of these before yet another linksys product failed, and so it will be our last Linksys product.

When it fails like the rest of them, I'm sure we'll be disappointed, but because we've already started buying Netgear, at least we'll have already left this formerly great company.

Cisco is putting their name on these devices, but they're a far cry from real Cisco gear. I've been a networking professional for almost 20 years. Cisco beats Netgear, HP, D-Link, and the rest, hands down when it comes to enterprise level networking equipment. Linksys was bought by Cisco, but so far I haven't seen any indication that Cisco's quality is seeping into the Linksys product line.

I'm trying to rid my network, and my users' homes, of these small Linksys switches. In my experience, they are a constant source of problems.
